NCAA Provides 6 Criteria to Help an Athlete Select the Right Agent:
- Determine the services you will need from an Agent.
- Consider an Agent's educational background, training and work experience.
- Determine the Agent's reputation.
- Look for an Agent who will devote time to your interests.
- Determine if the Agent is informed. An Agent must be familiar with the constitution and bylaws of the NFL, as well as the standard player's contract.
- Involve your family in the decision-making process, and make sure you feel comfortable and can trust the agent. (Most Important Factor)
Tip:
Remember an agent who cheats the system to sign you, will cheat you too.
